SUMMARY

The Express Requests Sr. Specialist develops and serves the HR professional by creating, marketing and reporting on the Knowledge Center's Express Requests (ER) service. The ER Sr. Specialist advances and leads the HR profession through the development of ER and contributing resources to the department's knowledge base.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages content offered on ER service; develops, maintains, and updates ER responses. Stays abreast of current issues and topics.

  • Manages various technology aspects of the ER service with the support of Business Solutions team: Customer Relationship Management (CRM), ER administrative site, Google Analytics, website etc.

  • Markets the Express Request service with support of Marketing and Publications. Primary marketing efforts include email blasts and newsletter inserts.

  • Reviews and interprets member satisfaction survey responses daily, replying to members as appropriate and sharing feedback with management

  • Consistent with SHRM’s Guiding Principles, partners with management to plan and implement strategic initiatives in support of the SHRM goals, mission, and vision.

  • Provides current and relevant resources to HR Knowledge Advisors to assist them in handling complex member questions

  • Contributes resources on timely HR topics to the department's knowledge base

  • Other duties as needed or required

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or a related field

  • A minimum of ten years of progressive experience in all areas of human resource management with practical, hands-on HR generalist experience or fourteen years of progressive, professional experience in lieu of a degree

  • Experience in different industries and environments (e.g. union, federal contracting)

Certifications

  • SHRM-CP/SCP earned within one year of employment

  • Resourceful, diplomatic and focused on the day-to-day HR practice needs of members

  • Ability to understand and utilize various systems (Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Microsoft Outlook and Google Analytics)

  • Excellent internet researching skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks independently

  • Ability to offer suggestions for operational improvements

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.

  • Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Work environment

  • Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and conference settings and routinely uses standard office equipment.

  • Expected travel is 0-10% of the time.

The hiring range for this position is $92,000 to $119,000 per year. This range is an estimate and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
