SHRM Sr. Accountant, Financial Systems in Alexandria, Virginia
The Sr. Accountant, Financial Systems position is responsible for the financial administration and operation of multiple financial system applications used within Division of Finance & Administration, in coordination with the Manager, Financial Systems. The incumbent will provide functional and technical support on application configuration, operation and maintenance to ensure applications function properly to meet the needs of organization.
Provide financial administration and operational support for financial systems, including NetSuite, Concur, and other financial applications. Provide direction and training, ongoing system analysis and problem resolution.
Create and maintain system generated monthly financial statements and accompanying schedules, including budget vs. actual variance reports.
Develop system reports required for financial analysis and general ledger reconciliations.
Support the monthly accounting close process with analysis and research of financial transactions and preparation of month end journal entries.
Manage data integration between Concur and NetSuite systems through Concur Connector for NetSuite. Ensure integration of financial data is maintained and reconciled.
Coordinate and assist with automated bank reconciliation application; determine and resolve issues with data integrity.
Assist with functional design, maintenance and implementation of NetSuite third party integrations.
Perform functional configurations and enhancements, system maintenance, and recommend configuration improvements for financial system applications.
Develop and maintain policies and procedures for application processes.
Maintain proper system access for all users and roles.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
5 years of accounting experience.
Knowledge of Generally Accepting Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Strong analytical and accounting skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with technical and non-technical staff at all levels.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
