The Research Content & Report Writer Specialist is responsible for supporting the efforts of senior members of the SHRM research team as they relate to research deliverables. Responsible for receiving and interpreting research results, developing and executing reports, stories and layouts for publication.
Create and edit report drafts of various forms including word .doc and PowerPoint.
Tailor content to engage various audience segments.
Develop research reports from raw survey data output.
Create engaging content collateral using a story telling approach that is consistent with SHRM’s brand guidelines.
Creatively and collaboratively contribute to the development of research-backed strategies, recommendations, and deliverables, with the guidance and partnership of senior researchers and other project team members.
Liaise and collaborate with internal research and analytic resources.
Develop interactive dashboards and reports via Tableau or PowerBI.
Create sales collateral such as case studies and white papers.
Serve in cross functional SHRM workgroups, as needed.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, Business, Library Science, Liberal Arts, Communications, or relevant field.
3-5 years of experience in communications, report and research writing experience.
Experience writing research reports sourced directly from survey data.
Expert proficiency with MS Word and PowerPoint as well as Adobe and other desktop publishing software.
Familiarity with SPSS and survey data.
Proficient with dynamic reporting tools such as Tableau and/or PowerBI.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and oral communications skills, including excellent writing, grammar, and editing skills.
Exceptional project management skills, including setting and meeting timelines.
Naturally curious, intrinsically motivated, and thrive in roles that allow you to engage with a wide range of topics and stakeholders.
Proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, rigorous data-centric environment, by successfully interacting and collaborating with product owners, managers, and senior management regarding business challenges and research needs.
Finely tuned active listening skills, strong attention to detail, and exceptional follow-through.
Comfortable working on multiple priorities while adhering to strict deadlines.
Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.
Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
Work is regularly performed in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
Travel Required: Occasional 0-10%
