The Design Specialist supports the organization and its affiliates trade marketing objectives by creating user-centric digital and print designs. This position effectively collaborates and communicates with stakeholders across the organization to create on-brand, cohesive creative that is optimized formultiple platforms and mediums.
Translate business requirements, user goals and branding into visually stimulating print and digital designs.
Partner with Director and other Designers to originate new concepts and maintain existing branded elements for conference marketing, product promotions, logos, journalism/publication design, reports, advertisements, books, brochures, websites, Electronic Customer Relationship Management/Newsletters, and graphics that follow standard digital best practices and take a user-first approach.
Utilize best practices in responsive design and user experience to create the best possible user experience while achieving all of the business requirements.
Design creatively for print runs. Provide completed files to the printer in a format acceptable for print inspection.
Effectively multi-task and manage time to meet project and deliverables deadlines. Work closely with and involve Product Owners and Project Managers through product creation to ensure business requirements are met.
Understand, apply and follow brand guidelines to ensure brand is consistent across materials.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Bachelor degree in Interactive Design, Web Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication or a related discipline.
3 years of professional design experience.
Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite; specifically Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
Outstanding conceptual and visual design skills.
Solid understanding of responsive design, user-experience design, typography, image optimization and color theory.
Ability to think critically, solve problems creatively and ask questions.
Ability to multi-task, independently manage time/projects, and maintain a design schedule without missing deadlines.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

Regularly required to sit; talk and hear, use hands to type, file, handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
May require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk, lift, carry and move light to medium weight. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and learn technical information.
Light lifting is required. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force to constantly move objects.
Work is regularly performed in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
This job requires occasional travel 0-10%.
