HR People + Strategy is the premier network of executives and thought leaders in the field of human resources. As SHRM’s Executive Network, HR People + Strategy provides members access to forward thinking exchanges, research and publications and executive level networking opportunities.

The Specialist, Member Engagement supports the organization in growing the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Network through personal outreach, planning and implementing engagement opportunities such as executive roundtables, summits, networking events, webinars and market research. This position is responsible for event logistics, gathering and reporting on market intelligence, and assisting with member outreach. The specialist directly contributes to and participates in activities necessary to grow CHRO membership and increase HR People + Strategy brand awareness.

Responsibilities

Your Day:

  • Manage the logistics and onsite coordination for the CHRO Summit and roundtables. Partner and communicate with SHRM departments with operational responsibility for CHRO programs to ensure successful events.

  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of communication materials and content.

  • Collaborate in the development and execution of publications and research for CHROs and solicit articles for publication.

  • Support member engagement through networking events at conferences.

  • Support engagement efforts by scheduling meetings, coordinating calendars and invites, drafting agendas, creating action items and tracking attendance.

  • Conduct research and market scanning to include competitive landscape, corporate profiles, and publications to inform the organization’s content, events and overall strategy.

  • Monitor budget and reconcile expenses for programs.

  • Work closely with the marketing team to implement marketing plan and support the development of programs, monitor, review and analyze marketing campaigns, perform regular reviews of membership database to generate new leads.

  • Manage and maintain areas of website related to CHRO engagement.

  • Assist in supporting HRPS affiliates.

  • Assist in corporate partner contracts and fulfillment of benefits.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must Haves:

  • High school diploma

  • 3 years of demonstrated experience with meeting and event planning, member engagement, and gathering and reporting on market intelligence and competition

  • Demonstrated experience drafting and editing written communications

  • Excellent writing and editing skills

  • Attention to detail is critical to the success of this position

  • Strong verbal and presentation skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work in a collaborative environment

  • Working knowledge of style guide, proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms

  • Analytical skills
