SUMMARY

The Senior Specialist, Multimedia Production serves as SHRM’s enterprise-wide multimedia production specialist aiding in the execution and delivery of video communications, including original content creation, live-stream production, and event support.  This position executes SHRM’s multimedia offerings by creating compelling content that serves and engages the SHRM community, meets the needs of the organization, and positions SHRM as a thought leader.  This role applies creative and technical ability, and works closely across all stakeholder functions: events, executive operations, editorial, communications, marketing, membership, knowledge centers, recruitment, and professional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and develop multimedia (audio/video) content for customer stories, internal company announcements, external promotions, product marketing, recruiting, corporate training, and other enterprise-wide projects.

  • Script, storyboard, budget, allocate resources, set deadlines, and select optimal forms of media for projects.

  • Collaborate closely with internal clients and stakeholders in coordination with lead of Multimedia Team.

  • Record and edit video and sound projects, including selecting program format for final output, capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, editing footage and sound files, creating and inserting static and motion graphics, titling, adding music/voice-over/sound effects, media management, and archiving project media.

  • Manage video libraries.

  • Create, update, project manage, and edit live and on-demand streaming media events.

  • Manage technical arrangements for live events, including tests, teleconference coordination, onsite production, etc.

  • Troubleshoot technical problems before/during/after live events.

  • Set up and operate audiovisual equipment both in the field and within the on-site production studio, including cameras, camera controller, microphones, audio mixer, lighting, teleprompter, production switcher, graphics system, etc.

  • Work independently or as part of a team to establish and complete project deliverables.

  • Assist the Lead, Multimedia Production in setting up production guidelines/workflows with the goal of growing audience engagement and response.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in film production, recording arts, broadcasting, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience.

  • At least five (5) years of progressive digital production experience, including branding, strategy, and execution.

  • Demonstrated experience in live production and executing video projects of all sizes from concept to completion.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in digital cinema, DSLR, and PTZ camera operation, lighting, and audio engineering in both studio and field environments. Experience with live chroma keying is preferred.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and After Effects; comfort with Adobe Creative Suite. Experience using a range of digital content management systems and video platforms.

  • Proficiency in live production workflow, including an understanding of video codecs, streaming bandwidths, hardware/software encoding, graphics integration, and live switching. Experience using OBS, vMix, LS6, and/or Ross production switchers is preferred.

  • Deep familiarity and strong desire to keep up with digital and video industry trends and technologies.

  • Proficiency in still photography.

  • Creative, design-thinker with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Self-motivated with an eagerness to learn.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects at once and deftly communicating and escalating issues as needed.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of project management software/tools

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.

Occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

  • Requires ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, and move light to medium weight. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and learn technical information.

  • Heavy lifting is required. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly.

Work environment

  • Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and conference settings and routinely uses standard office equipment.

  • This job requires moderate travel: 20-30%.

The hiring range for this position is $82,000 to $107,000 per year. This range is an estimate and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
