The Senior Specialist, Multimedia Production serves as SHRM’s enterprise-wide multimedia production specialist aiding in the execution and delivery of video communications, as well as creating the company’s digital media infrastructure – including original content creation and distribution, live-stream capabilities, and internal/external event support.  This position executes SHRM’s video offerings by creating compelling content that serves and engages the SHRM community, meets the needs of the organization and positions SHRM as a thought leader.  This role applies creative and technical ability, and works closely across all stakeholder functions: events, editorial, communications, marketing, membership, knowledge centers and professional development.

Your Day:

  • Collaborate in the creation and development of a long-term strategic vision for SHRM’s Multimedia Production capabilities.

  • Assist the Multimedia Manager in setting up production guidelines/workflows with the goal of growing audience engagement and response. Shares video best practices across the organization.

  • Aid in building SHRM live streaming capability, including web and app-based systems, streaming encoders and transmission equipment as directed by SHRM leadership.

  • Produce digital signage and other on-screen content for office and conference/event displays. Support SHRM conference/event production. Finds opportunities and supports the development of interactive and virtual conference experiences.

  • Responsible for developing creatives and storyboards that are brand-focused, audience-centric, and effective for stakeholders.

  • Help create and maintain production budgets.

  • Work alongside outside vendor/video production agencies.

  • Aid with all video needs across SHRM’s content, revenue, and product areas, advising on concepting, approach, budget, and timelines.

  • Ensure on-time, on-budget, and on-brand content creation.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in film production, graphic design, marketing, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience

  • At least eight (5) years of progressive digital production experience, including branding, strategy, and execution.

  • Demonstrated experience executing video projects of all sizes from concept to completion.

  • Experience with studio set-up and technology is preferred.

  • Proficiency in camera operation, lighting, and audio engineering in both studio and field environments.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and After Effects; comfort with Adobe Creative Suite. Experience using a range of digital content management systems and video platforms.

  • Deep familiarity with digital and video industry trends, technologies, and vendors.

  • Creative, design-thinker with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Self-motivated.

  • Enthusiasm for workplace issues and for the SHRM member and mission

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects at once and deftly communicating and escalating issues as needed.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of project management software/tools

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.

  • Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Work Environment

  • Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and conference settings and routinely uses standard office equipment.

  • Travel Required: Moderate 20-30%
