The Role:

The SHRM Foundation seeks a senior marketing specialist to lead its marketing efforts, including supporting specific SHRM Foundation's Strategic Initiatives and Development (Fundraising) departments that support a multi-million dollar operating budget. This position is responsible for building brand awareness that drives the demand for strategic initiatives (programmatic), including products and events, while gaining increased commitment of new and current donors, as well as sponsors. This position is responsible for the strategic integration of the SHRM Foundation brand with SHRM and its affiliate brands.

Responsibilities

Your Day:

  • Lead the creation and execution of the Foundation’s strategic branding and marketing plans, both short- and long-term.

  • Prepare marketing strategies in collaboration with SHRM Foundation staff.

  • Nurture and enrich brand awareness of the SHRM Foundation to current donors and future prospects.

  • Extend the SHRM Foundation brand by building awareness and catching the attention of media, CEOs and progressive leaders of Fortune 100 organizations.

  • Analyze market trends and recommend changes to marketing and development strategies based on data as well as gather and analyze customer insight.

  • Design, manage, and execute the overall marketing campaign tactics to include, but not limited to: messaging, collateral design production; print and digital advertising; press releases; lead generation; and e-mail marketing.

  • Coordinate and enhance joint marketing efforts across SHRM and SHRM affiliates.

  • Manage and execute web content strategy.

  • Build and execute social media strategy, engage constituents.

  • Deepen relationships with media to ensure the most effective messaging and positioning of the Foundation.

  • Work with SHRM Foundation Strategic Initiative and Development Directors on content generation and production across all media platforms.

  • Strengthen the connection between the SHRM Foundation’s work and current/ potential donors and sponsors.

Qualifications

Must Haves:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing or Communications.

  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in branding and marketing,experience with a non-profit/foundation a plus.

  • Direct mail and e-mail marketing experience.

  • Experience with marketing e-mail software (SilverPop or similar platform).

  • Experience with social media platforms.

  • Strong working knowledge of general marketing concepts and terminology.

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills; ability to influence and engage a wide range of constituents and build long-term relationships.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to think strategically.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
