The Specialist/Researcher, Strategic Research is responsible for conducting quantitative and qualitative research to support the organization’s key strategic initiatives. Research is focused on all things work, worker and workplace and may include topics such as human resources, workplace economic impacts, diversity, equity and inclusion, racial injustice, and worker benefits. This position supports the execution of research initiatives in support of organizational objectives and to the progression of the HR profession.

Your Day:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research primary and secondary research on work, worker and workplace topics.

  • Design and execute concurrent research studies from start to finish, including defining objectives, developing research plans, designing and programming surveys, analyzing results, summarizing findings, and creating final deliverables.

  • Communicate and collaborate internally and externally to support the research functions to bring high quality proposals, reports, deliverables, presentations, etc. to fruition and help bridge alignment within and across diverse teams to meet business objectives

  • Work on initiatives of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current workplace and business trends

  • Communicate research insights and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways to foster and elevate customer understanding, help achieve product and/or business impact

  • Ability to work independently and adapt research practices to meet business needs

  • Follow processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

  • Other duties as assigned.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, data science, Industrial Organizational Psychology or related field.

  • 2 years of professional experience in research, project management, data analysis

  • Working knowledge and experience with programming on survey design platforms (Qualtrics, Confirmit, Decipher Beacon, or other platforms) .

  • SHRM-CP/SCP certification required within one year of employment.

  • Strong foundation in applied research design, test construction and validation, methodology and statistics (using SPSS, SAS, and/or R).

  • Proficiency with IBM SPSS including cross tabs, frequencies, correlations, regressions

  • Experience using data visualization platforms such as Tableau and/or PowerBI.

  • Excellent writing skills to effectively communicate research results and findings to a variety of different stakeholders and audience sizes.

  • Comfortable working in a high-paced, agile, and demanding environment.

  • Excellent oral communication, writing, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to consolidate data findings into concise, actionable and easy-to-understand charts and/or presentations.

  • Willingness to work on various types of tasks and projects.

  • Possess a desire to learn and develop inventive methods that respond to customer/project needs.

Let us know if you have:

  • Master’s in economics, data science, Industrial Organizational Psychology or related field.

  • 2 years of professional experience in survey research

  • A strong foundation in product development with an emphasis on learning and development for HR generalists.

  • Orientation toward continuous improvement, as demonstrated by a proven track record of innovations and contributions to improve the quality, quantity, and consistency of research and associated deliverables.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit; talk and hear, use hands to type, file, handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

  • Light lifting is required. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force to constantly move objects.

Work Environment

  • Work is regularly performed in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.

  • Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and conference settings and routinely uses standard office equipment.

  • This job requires occasional travel 0-10%.
