The Manager, Paid Media Marketing role is responsible for bringing SHRM’s audience-centric strategy to life through digital media as part of an omni-channel integrated marketing program. This role will specifically focus on paid media, SEO, search, display and TV – across those channels providing strategy and direction, tactical planning, execution, measurement and optimization. This role must bring an intense understanding of audience insights and behaviors, marketing automation enablement tools, copywriting/messaging and branding to deliver on targeted conversion strategies. This position will bring SHRM to the digital marketplace, driving members and customers to see value and relevance and thus convert.
Develop a deep understanding of target audiences' expectations, wants and needs to create strategies, execution and deployment that drives conversion.
Lead digital media content marketing strategy and planning
Develop and implement custom audience strategies utilizing 1st and 3rd party data.
Optimize campaign performance through data analysis and testing.
Direct our media buying agency – holding them accountable, pushing for excellence and monitoring active optimizations and pilots to try new endeavors.
Manage cohesive brand alignment in all deliverables.
Lead analytics of measurement for ROI output.
Work cross-functionally to ensure a consistency in brand, message, CTAs across all departments and projects.
Detailed project management of digital media programs/initiatives/campaigns.
Manage lead generation and data management.
Develop leadership across execution and tactics.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
At least eight (8) years of progressively complex experience in marketing, specifically in performance marketing, digital and paid media roles with leadership shown
Direct experience with DSPs, and deep knowledge of ad serving and tracking technologies
Broad experience across B2C, B2B and eCommerce audiences desirable.
Experience developing and implementing custom audience strategies utilizing 1st and 3rd party data.
Proven ability to optimize campaign performance through data analysis and testing.
Experience running successful digital multi-touch campaigns
Documented expertise in SEO/SEM, PPC, social media marketing, native and sponsored ads. conversion rate optimization, and overall content marketing
Experience managing large digital media budgets across a high volume of campaigns, audience and product sets
Deep understanding of content marketing tailored for audience segments – ability to apply consumer insights to improve conversion
Ability to run and learn from structured A/B tests
Customer lifecycle marketing including demand generation and using content to convert
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to gleam directional findings from data
Understanding of a Multitouch Attribution Model, Customer Lifetime Value and how digital media plays a role in the customer journey from awareness to trigger to purchase and to loyalty loop
High level of responsiveness, ability to adapt to change and work in a high-volume fast-paced environment
Strong skill base in reporting tools across platforms, including Google Analytics, AdWords, Tableau, etc.
Strong attention to detail
Lead with bold purpose while collaborating fiercely with a high degree of accountability

Background in a large PR or digital marketing agency strongly preferred
Experience with Websites (word press, drupal, etc.) is preferred
Digital paid media or performance marketing certifications and trainings preferred
Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.
Work is generally performed sitting, talking, hearing and typing. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
Work is regularly performed in an office and routinely uses standard office equipment. The role is based in the Alexandria, VA headquarters of SHRM. It may require the maintenance of home office.
Travel Required: Moderate 20-30%
