Summary

The Lead Specialist Certification, Test Administration and Security drives growth of the number of professionals pursuing, obtaining, and retaining SHRM certification with a specific focus on overseeing the successful implementation of the SHRM certification test administration process and for managing the activities related to testing program security, administration and compliance. This position manages these aspects of the testing program by working with internal and external stakeholders. The Lead Specialist’s goal is to ensure a quality testing experience for all candidates, safeguard the integrity of the exam, protect SHRM’s intellectual property and manage the SHRM certification testing processes in alignment with certification accreditation standards. The incumbent’s duties also include special projects and work assignments that educate, promote and grow SHRM certification or improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads SHRM’s test administration process, partnering with SHRM’s test administration vendor, others on the SHRM Customer Experience team, SHRM certification communities’ staff members, and other stakeholders to successfully execute the test administration process.

  • Manages the SHRM certification testing accommodations process; collaborates with others on the SHRM Customer Experience team and the test administration partner to accommodate approved candidates accordingly and in alignment with policies and applicable laws and regulations.

  • Manages the SHRM certification program security; collaborates with the department director and VP responsible for test development and accreditation to plan, develop, implement, maintain and track policies, processes, practices and procedures.

  • Handles test administration and security escalations including: gather all relevant information, review all official documents and recordings from the test administration partner that may influence course of action or decision, document findings, interact with customers and other affected parties, and recommend and implement solutions after collaborating with department leadership.

  • Educates, trains, and informs staff and stakeholders on test and program security-related policies, procedures, and practices.

  • Monitors, tracks, and reports on test administration and security-related issues.

  • Provides budget planning, expense tracking, and revenue reconciliation support as needed including auditing the monthly Prometric test administration invoices during testing windows for accuracy.

  • Provides overall operational support to the certification testing program as needed including being responsible for all testing window opening and closing activities such as, but not limited to product set up in the system(s), documenting and finalizing no-show records, and similar activities.

  • Executes other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or HR preferred.

Experience

  • At least 8 years of experience working in a credentialing or testing environment.

  • HR knowledge/experience a plus specifically including collaborating with leaders to investigate issues and gather information for decision-making.

  • Work with a non-profit professional association preferred.

  • Customer Service experience, with a demonstrated track record of successfully managing customer accounts and disputes.

  • Experience working with Customer Relationship Management tools and/or databases.

Certifications

  • Working knowledge of Cobalt, NetSuite and other database systems which support certification business operations; willingness to learn GEE, a vendor-partner specific software for managing testing appointments and granting testing accommodations.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodation.

  • Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Work environment

  • Work is regularly performed in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.

  • Expected travel is 0-10% of the time.

The hiring range for this position is $92,000 to $115,000 per year. This range is an estimate and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
