SHRM Business Analyst in Alexandria, Virginia
This position provides an excellent opportunity to assist teams of focused and motivated individuals in delivering high value solutions to SHRM's business challenges and growth plans. A Business Analyst can positively impact all departments and initiatives within the organization.
The Business Analyst works collaboratively with all appropriate business stakeholders to document requirements, systems and procedures, and test solutions to the organization’s business requirements that contributes to the recommendation and implementation of business solutions. This position supports, troubleshoots and provides client training to facilitate the integration of the organization’s business applications. This role also manages and maintains the integrity of systems to
ensure security, availability, accuracy, and efficiency.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify, define, and analyze client needs, program functions, and business requirements to develop, modify, and implement systems that improves processes through effective use of technology.
Documents system user stories by using behavior-driven development format including test/use cases, reviewing user instructions, process maps, data flow diagrams, data dictionaries and other systems related information to automate and improve systems
Monitor existing agreements, specifically around Service Level Agreements that include upgrades and service packs for specified systems.
Initiate contract generation requests and provide parameters to the vendors.
Maintain vendor relationships by serving as a primary point of contact to manage requests to and from the organization and vendor, and sets expectations for working relationship.
Review system capabilities by coordinating and guiding business users through User Acceptance Testing methods such as developing test scenarios, performing system and regression testing, and evaluating programs and perform root cause analysis.
Collaborates with internal and external technical resources to implement approved changes throughout project life cycle.
Ensures system modifications satisfy existing and planned client requirements in support of critical business objectives.
Provides recommendations in the selection, development and use of systems by following technology trends and best practices, including new vendor selection.
Works closely with stakeholders to execute projects by serving as a go to resource to provide business requirements.
Provide level one support and administration for assigned systems.
High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information management systems or a related field preferred.
2 years of information systems experience as a Business Analyst or, 6 years of information systems experience in lieu of a degree.
Knowledge of business requirements gathering and documenting specifications for software, e-commerce, or website modifications and development.
Ability to learn applications thoroughly and make changes as needed.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to share knowledge with Technology team and the organization.
Ability to maintain, support and integrate off the shelf applications.
Strong desire to understand and learn new systems.
We are looking for individuals that have:
Experience working with accredited certification programs strongly preferred.
Experience with Certification Management, proctored exam delivery, and digital badging systems strongly preferred.
Experience with configuration and management of ERP/CRM systems, including NetSuite, Salesforce, and/or MS Dynamics.
Experience with agile development processes and methodologies, and sprint planning.
Experience developing and documenting user procedures, reports or data extracts, and process mapping.
Experience developing and executing test scenarios.
